MULTIPLE PLATFORMS AND DEVICES
Microsoft previewed Azure SQL Database elastic database, which allow ISVs and software-as-a-service developers to pool capacity across thousands of databases, enabling them to benefit from efficient resource consumption and the best price and performance in the public cloud. To help developers manage massive datasets, Microsoft enterprise-class cloud data warehouse as a service that can grow, Data Lake, an open and massively scalable data repository that supports petabyte-size files and provides high-speed integration with Azure HDInsight, Azure Machine Learning, Cloudera and Hortonworks to quickly derive insights from vast amounts of data.
To help every developer be more productive, Microsoft announced new best-in-class tools and runtimes for multiple platforms and devices. In preview on Windows, Mac and Linux, Visual Studio Code is a free code-focused editor optimized for Web and cloud applications. Furthering its work with open source and .NET communities, Microsoft released a preview of the .NET Core for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.
Microsoft also released Visual Studio 2015 Release Candidate, which makes it easier for developers to build and deploy applications to Windows, Linux, iOS and Android platforms.
We would love to release a Linux application, but we still have a lot of work to improve and build the Windows and Mac OS X applications unfortunately.
Since there are several Linux users in the team, there will be a Linux application someday, but we cannot say when. Even though Microsoft Edge now supports browser extensions, Dashlane is currently incompatible with this browser as it requires a technology that is still missing from Edge. Microsoft is working on this and it will be added to Edge very soon. We are also doing our best to release an extension for Edge as soon as possible.
BUT WILL CONTENT BE HTML?

HTML5 video is some kind of moving target? I remember how years ago on slashdot it was about some raw video streaming with the universal ability of doing a right-click and "save as". But then it needed DRM. And then, it sucks because you want the ability to change video stream on the fly depending on bandwith. So you have "MSE", which is bleeding edge. Meaning unfinished, not supported, perhaps has the potential to up the CPU hungriness again. Whatever, give me something that works in flash 11.

they spend all this time on writing DRM code... which will be blown out within a week anyway why not better spend that money and time working on actually making the browser better???? bother? If you want the content without paying, torrent it, rather than messing with streams with quality/bitrate that can change for reasons outside your control.

* Symantec Acquires Isolation Vendor Fireglass * Ransomware Attacks Growing Globally Typically with any vulnerability that is publicly shown at Pwn2Own, onsite vendor representatives are privately provided the full details of any demonstrated flaw. Hariri said that ZDI will be disclosing the kernel issue to Canonical, the lead commercial sponsor of Ubuntu, though he noted that there was no representative from Canonical at the Pwn2Own event. In addition to the Ubuntu Linux attack target, the Pwn2Own 2017 event also listed Apache Web Server running on Ubuntu 16.10 Linux as a potential target, with a prize of $200,000 for a successful exploit. Dustin Childs, director of communication for ZDI, told eWEEK that no one has registered to take aim at the Apache/Ubuntu target.

ZDI awarded Chaitin Security Research Lab $35,000 for the Apple exploits. Researchers from the 360 Security team, meanwhile, earned a $50,000 award for chaining a pair of Microsoft Windows vulnerabilities together to demonstrate a remote code execution flaw in Adobe Tencent Security also took aim at Adobe Reader, exploiting a new use-after-free vulnerability to gain code execution, earning a reward of $25,000 from ZDI. In addition, Tencent was able to exploit the Microsoft Edge browser by using a logic bug to escape the browser sandbox, resulting in an award of $80,000. what ZDI called a "partial win" in an attack against Apple Safari and macOS.
"They employed a use-after-free in Safari combined with three logic bugs and a null pointer dereference to exploit Safari and elevate to root in macOS," Childs told eWEEK. "Unfortunately, the UAF was corrected by the beta version of the browser, earning them only the partial win." Pwn2Own continues through March 17, as more researchers will attempt award money. HOW MUCH SPYWARE WLLL IT HAVE?
As noted in many posts on Slashdot and other places, Microsoft is pushing updates that are extremely intrusive into Windows 7 on up. These updates have two things in common: they send a lot of information back to Microsoft and they are difficult or impossible to block. So if Microsoft has a browser running on Linux, the only reasonable expectation is that it will do the same thing.
We know that other but given the Microsoft track record for
